Iran unveils key figures on imports and exports across border terminals

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 17. Iran's border terminals facilitated the import and export of a total of 12.3 million tons of goods in the first ten months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through January 19, 2025), Javad Hedayati, the Director General of the International Transit and Transport Department of Iran's Road and TransportOrganization Javad Hedayati, told reporters, Trend reports.

Hedayati noted that around 10.3 million tons of goods were exported via the country's border terminals in this period.

Additionally, about 2.09 million tons of goods were imported through the border terminals during the same time.

Hedayati also noted that during this period, around 14.7 million tons of goods were transported for transit purposes into the country, marking a 20 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

To note, a total of 26 border terminals operate in 12 provinces of Iran, handling Iranian and international cargo transportation and transit.
