Iran's South Pars Gas Company boosts condensate lots to Persian Gulf Star Oil Company

BAKU, Azerbaijan, February 26. Iran's South Pars Gas Company has sent over 135 million barrels of gas condensate to the Persian Gulf Star Oil Company for gasoline production purposes since the beginning of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 25, 2025), Hossein Shamshiri, Deputy Executive Director of the Iranian South Pars Gas Company and Head of the 1st Refinery, told reporters, Trend reports.

Shamshiri revealed that the South Pars Gas Company produces approximately 710,000 barrels of gas condensate daily, with over 450,000 barrels being sent as raw material to the Persian Gulf Star Oil Company. He also emphasized that the Persian Gulf Star Oil Company plays a key role in the country’s gasoline production.

In order to facilitate the conveyance of gas condensate, a strategically engineered 388-kilometer pipeline interlinks the South Pars Gas Company with the Persian Gulf Star Oil Company, as highlighted by the official.

In addition to these shipments, more than 4 million barrels of gas condensate were delivered to Nouri Petrochemical Company during the same period.

Located in Hormozgan Province in southern Iran, the Persian Gulf Star Oil Company has the capacity to produce up to 42 million liters of gasoline and 14 million liters of diesel daily.

To note, South Pars Gas Company processes the rich gas produced from the South Pars gas field. More than 75 percent of the gas consumed in the country is supplied by this company. The company has 13 processing plants.

The company receives 650 million cubic meters of rich gas daily from the South Pars field, processing 580 million cubic meters for delivery to Iran's gas network. Additionally, the company produces 780,000 barrels of gas condensate, 15,000 tons of ethane, 15,000 tons of propane, 10,000 tons of butane, and 2,500 tons of sulfur daily.

The South Pars gas field (North Dome in Qatar) is a joint Iran-Qatar gas field. It is reported that this field has 51 trillion cubic meters of gas reserves, of which 36 trillion cubic meters can be produced. Iran's share in this field is 14 trillion cubic meters of gas and 18 billion barrels of gas condensate.
