BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 4. Iran's National Copper Industry Company is advancing with twelve large projects that have the potential to generate significant revenue annually, Hossein Modarres Khiabani, CEO of National Iranian Copper Industries Company, told reporters, Trend reports.
He emphasized that the completion of each of these projects will greatly contribute to the country's economy.
Khiabani also mentioned that there are currently another 35 projects underway related to the copper sector. The total investment for these projects is expected to reach approximately 7.43 billion euros and 3.63 quadrillion rials (about $6.34 billion).
The company official highlighted that these projects range from copper extraction to providing renewable energy sources to power processing plants.
To note, the metrics from the National Iranian Copper Industries Company indicate that the copper reserves within the nation's geological framework are quantified at 19 billion tons. Sarcheshmeh and Sungun are recognized as the principal copper extraction sites within the Iranian mine landscape.
