BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 5. Sales by the National Iranian Copper Industries Company (NICICO) saw a 25 percent increase during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) compared to the same period of the year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Hossein Modarres Khiabani, CEO of National Iranian Copper Industries Company, told reporters, Trend reports.
Modarres Khiyabani noted that in the last eleven months, the value of domestic product sales by the company reached approximately 1.25 quadrillion rials (about $2.1 billion).
He also mentioned that the company marketed around 1.27 million tons of copper and copper-related products in total, with 268,000 tons sold through the Product Exchange and about 1 million tons sold through regular channels.
The NICICO’s products are primarily used as raw materials in various industries, including construction, automotive manufacturing, and electrical sectors.
The data from the National Iranian Copper Industry Company indicates that copper reserves in the nation's geological structure are estimated at 19 billion tons. Sarcheshmeh and Sungun are recognized as the main copper mining locations in the Iranian mining landscape.
