Iran’s Hormozgan Province records billions in non-oil export value

BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17.​ Non-oil exports from Hormozgan Province, located in southern Iran, increased by 15 percent during the 11 months of the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through February 18, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 21, 2023, through February 19, 2024), Khalil Ghasemi, head of Hormozgan Industries, Mining and Trade Organization, told reporters, Trend reports.

Ghasemi stated that during this period, Hormozgan Province exported non-oil products worth $3.52 billion. The exports primarily consisted of industrial and mining products, agricultural goods, tourism-related items, handicrafts, and more. These products were mainly exported to countries across Asia, Africa, and the Persian Gulf region.

He further noted that in the eleven months, exports from the industrial and mining sectors amounted to $2.58 billion, including products such as steel, gypsum, and others.

Looking ahead, Ghasemi mentioned that Hormozgan Province aims to export non-oil products worth $4.12 billion during the current Iranian year (from March 20, 2024, through March 20, 2025).

Iran's Customs Administration data shows that the country's total exports of non-oil products amounted to 141 million tons worth $53.4 billion during 11 months. Compared to the same period last year, non-oil exports increased by 19 percent in value and 12.6 percent in weight.
