BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 15. Iran has allocated a total of 5.3 trillion rials (about $9.3 million) in credit for export-oriented projects in the Makran coastal region of its southeastern Sistan and Baluchestan Province, Mojib Hassani, Deputy Governor of the province, told reporters, Trend reports.
In an interview with local media, Hasani stated that the funding has been directed toward 29 production projects in the region, with support from the Industrial Development and Renovation Organization (IDRO) and local banks, under coordination with the governor’s office.
"Out of the total portfolio, 26 facilities have successfully reached operational status, while development efforts persist on the three outstanding projects," said Hassani.
He elaborated that the infrastructure encompasses a diverse
array of sectors, including aquaculture processing, mineral
extraction and refinement, non-alcoholic beverage formulation,
ceramic production, and metal can fabrication.
The initiative epitomizes a comprehensive strategy aimed at
amplifying industrial throughput and enhancing export metrics from
the province. Sistan and Baluchestan is presently engaged in the
operation of nine cross-border trade hubs and 30 industrial
zones.
