BAKU, Azerbaijan, June 2. Iran Khodro Automobile Manufacturing Company (branded as IKCO) saw its passenger car production rise by 26.3 percent in the first 2 months of the current Iranian year (from March 21 through May 21, 2025) compared to the same period last year (from March 20 through May 20, 2024).
Data obtained by Trend from a report published by Codal.ir, a comprehensive database under Iran's Securities and Exchange Organization, shows that IKCO produced around 82,600 (82,611) passenger cars in two months, compared to about 65,400 (65,392) cars in the previous year’s equivalent period.
The report states that the company manufactured roughly 26,100 Peugeot vehicles, 23,000 Soren, 13,300 Dena, 13,200 Tara, 3,300 Haima, and 3,000 other passenger cars during this time.
Furthermore, the report also noted that Irankhodro sold nearly 71,000 (70,950) passenger cars over the same period.
The trio of dominant automotive manufacturers in Iran—namely Irankhodro, Saipa, and Parskhodro—achieved a production output exceeding 137,000 units of cars in the first two months of the Iranian year, marking a 3.6 percent increase compared to last year.
