Iran commenced four petrochemical projects during the current fiscal year, including Mahabad plant, urea and ammonia units of Shiraz plant, and a sulphuric acid unit of Urmia plant, and eyes to finish six other projects in early February, the National Petrochemical Company’s production manager, Mohammad-Ali Bassaqzadeh told SHANA.
Iran’s fiscal year started on March 21, 2016.
Bassaqzadeh said the Takht-e Jamshid plant, new units of Karoon plant, a desulphurizing unit of Nouri plant, the second phase of Kavian and the first phase of Damavan petrochemical plants would become operational the next month.
Iran produced 40 million tons of petrochemical products during nine months of current fiscal year, which indicates a 17 percent growth year-on-year, he said.
Iran also exported 16 million tons of petrochemicals, which indicates a 7 percent growth year-on-year.
