Iran has set a target for 14 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) of gas deliveries to Iraq’s capital during the current fiscal year, started on March 21, according to Iranian Oil Minister Bijan Namdar Zanganeh.
Iran has two agreements with Iraq to export 50 mcm/d of gas to Baghdad and Basra.
According to a report, released by Oil Ministry’s official website, Iran also plans to complete the seventh cross-country pipeline (Igat-7), aimed to deliver gas to south eastern regions and Pakistan.
Iran should stretch Igat-7 further 180 km to reach Pakistani borders. The sides have a 22-mcm/d deal gas contract, which should have been implemented in January 2015, but neither Iran completed its pipeline, nor Pakistan started construction of the pipeline on its territory.
Iran also plans to increase gas output from South Pars to 620 million cubic meters per day (mcm/d) during the current fiscal year by commencing phases 13, 14, 22-24 of South Pars.
Currently the output capacity of this field is about 520-530 mcm/d. Iran’s total gross gas production capacity is also about 780 mcm/d and would reach about 780-790 mcm/d by March 2018.
Iran plans to increase gross gas output to 1.2 bcm/d by March 2022.
