Gasoline consumption in Iran registered a record high during the current fiscal year (started March 20, 2017) and hit 104.7 million liters per day on Sept. 7.
The highest daily gasoline consumption of recent years was registered at 105.9 million liters on March 31, 2016, the public relations office of National Iranian Oil Products Distribution Company said Sept. 12.
The average daily gasoline consumption during the current Iranian calendar month of Shahrivar (started Aug. 23) stands at 88 million liters.
The Islamic Republic’s daily gasoline consumption increased by 8.5 percent to 79 million liters during the first four months of the current fiscal year (March 20-July 21).
Iran plans to increase its gasoline output by 24 million liters per day to above 80 million liters per day in future.
The country, over the current fiscal year, has been importing about 10 million liters of gasoline on a daily basis.
