Iran’s Ports and Maritime Organization (PMO) has loaded and unloaded more than 4.02 million tons of oil products at its ports across the country over the fifth month of the Iranian fiscal year (July 22- August 22).
The figure indicates an increase by 41 percent compared to the preceding month, when 2.85 million tons of the same products were loaded and unloaded at the ports.
According to the latest data released by the PMO, the oil products loading/unloading in Iranian ports decreased by 6.6 percent in the fifth calendar month compared to the same period of the preceding year.
The report indicates that 10 out of POM’s 20 ports, including Imam Khomeini, Amirabad, Bushehr, Chabahar, Khorramshahr, Shahid Bahonar, Shahid Rajaee, Fereydoonkenar, Lengeh and Qeshm were involved in oil products loading/unloading during the period.
Shahid Rajaee port had the highest share of oil products loading/unloading (2.175 million tons), followed by Imam Khomeini port (1.64 million tons) and Chabahar port (108,560 tons).
The data shows that 1.765 million tons of oil products were unloaded at Iranian ports, 1.5 percent more year-on-year.
Meanwhile, 2.26 million tons of oil products were loaded at the ports, which was 12 percent less compared to the one-month period of the preceding year.
In general, over 18.63 million tons of oil products were loaded and unloaded at Iranian ports during the first five months of the current fiscal year (March 20-Aug. 22), indicating a 10.1-percent decrease year-on-year.
Iranian ports saw loading and unloading of a total of 10.82 million tons of various goods and commodities, including food and metal products between July 22 to Aug. 22, 20.2 percent less year-on-year.
The volume for the 5-month period of the current fiscal year was 59.05 million tons.
In total, over 153 million tons of various goods were loaded/unloaded at Iranian ports during the last fiscal year, including 46.7 million tons of oil products. The volume is 5.5 percent more than the loaded/unloaded products in the preceding year.
