BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 28. The contract between Iraq and Iran on the export of Iranian gas to Iraq was extended for 5 years on March 27, the Iranian media says, Trend reports.
Information says the contract was signed between Iraqi Minister of Electricity Ziyad Ali Fadel and the executive director of Iran's National Gas Company, Majid Chegen.
The agreement states that Iraq's thermal power facilities will get 50 million cubic meters of gas per day from Iran.
Meanwhile, the last time an agreement on Iranian gas exports to Iraq was signed in 2013.
To note, Iran currently produces an average of 259 bcm of gas per year and an average of more than 800 million cubic meters of gas daily.
