Iran shares export volume of non-oil products from its Zanjan Province

BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 28. A total of 166,000 tons of non-oil products worth about $407 million were exported from Zanjan Province in western Iran during the nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 20, 2024), Director General of the province's customs department, Zeyn-ul-Abedin Ganj-Khanlou, told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, exports of non-oil products from Iran's Zanjan province increased in value by 12 percent and decreased by 8 percent in weight during nine months compared to the same period of last year (from March 21 through December 21, 2023).

Ganj-Khanlou observed that the province exported zinc, electrical transformers, and paper. The province primarily exported its products to Türkiye, Iraq, and the UAE.

The official emphasized that the provincial customs imported 166,000 tons of goods valued at $344 million over the course of nine months. This represents an 18 percent decrease in value and a 5 percent decrease in weight compared to the same period last year.

Genckhanlu further stated that the majority of imports during this period came from Türkiye, the UAE, and Germany. The main imported products included paper pulp, machinery, and raw materials.

To note, non-oil products worth $535 million were exported from Iran’s Zanjan province in the last Iranian year (from March 21, 2023, through March 19, 2024).
