BAKU, Azerbaijan, January 6. The production of copper cathode in Iran increased by 6 percent during the nine months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through December 20, 2024) compared to the same period last year (from March 21 through December 21, 2023), the statement of Iran's National Company of Copper Industry said, Trend reports.
Iran's National Copper Industries Company produced 1.9 million tons of copper concentrate in nine months. However, during the same period last year, the production of copper cathode amounted to 945,000 tons.
Furthermore, the National Company of Copper Industries of Iran produced 260,000 tons of anodes in nine months. This figure increased by 1.3 percent compared to the same period last year, i.e., 257,000 million tons.
The company produced 217,000 tons of copper cathode in nine months. Meanwhile, the production of copper cathode rose by 3.2 percent compared to the same period last year (210 thousand tons).
Furthermore, the National Company of Copper Industries of Iran produced 223 million tons of copper mineral in nine months. Last year, the company produced 204 million tons of copper.
To note, according to the National Company of Copper Industry of Iran, copper reserves in the country amount to 19 billion tons. Sarcheshmeh and Sungun are considered the main copper mines in Iran.
