BAKU, Azerbaijan, April 20. Iran's saffron export value and volume decreased by 13 percent and four percent, respectively, during the last Iranian year (from March 20, 2024 through March 20, 2025) compared to the previous year (from March 21, 2023 through March 19, 2024), the country's customs administration official Hamid Bayat told reporters, Trend reports.
He said that in the reporting year, Iran exported $185 billion worth of 214 tons of saffron.
The official pointed out that this product is exported to more than 50 countries.
Last year, Iran mainly exported saffron worth $50 million to the UAE, $40 million to Spain, and $30 million to China, added the official.
To note, according to the report of the Iranian Customs Administration, last year, Iran exported approximately 152 million tons of non-oil products worth $57.8 billion. Non-oil product exports increased by 15.6 percent in value and 10 percent in weight compared to the previous year.
