The amount of net loans issued by Georgia’s commercial banks in November 2021 totaled 39.4 billion Georgian lari ($12.7 billion), Trend reports via statistical data of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
According to the NBG, the current index decreased by 0.5 percent, compared to 39.6 billion Georgian lari ($12.8 billion) in October 2021.
However, Georgian commercial banks’ net loans in November 2021 increased by 12.8 percent, compared to 34.9 billion Georgian lari ($11.3 billion) over the same period of 2020, the report said.
The volume of loans to the non-financial sector and households issued by Georgia’s commercial banks over the reporting period of 2021 amounted to 41.4 billion Georgian lari ($13.4 billion), which is an increase of 10.9 percent compared to 37.3 billion Georgian lari ($12.1 billion) over the same period of 2020.
Although, the same figure showed a slight decrease of 0.4 percent, compared to 41.6 billion Georgian lari ($13.5 billion) in October 2021.
Loan loss reserves of Georgia’s commercial banks in the reporting period of 2021 decreased by 5.9 percent, compared to 2.02 billion Georgian lari ($655.8 million) in October 2021, and totaled 1.9 billion Georgian lari ($616.8 million), the NBG said.
According to the report, the current index also decreased by 20.8 percent, compared to 2.4 billion Georgian lari ($779.2 million) in November 2020.
