BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 18. Türkiye's Tekirdag port received 1,539 ships from January through June 2024, the statement of Türkiye's Ministry of Transportation and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.
According to the ministry, Tekirdag port received 488 vessels under the flag of Türkiye and 1,051 - under the flags of other countries during the mentioned period.
Meanwhile, in June 2024, the ports of Türkiye received 32.1 million tons of cargo. During this period, cargo traffic to domestic ports by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 2.4 million tons.
“Cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 29.6 million tons,” the statement of the ministry said.
Furthermore, about 5.9 million tons of transit cargo were transported from Turkish ports in June 2024.
The ministry notes that Türkiye's ports received 204 million tons of cargo from January through June 2024.
“The cargo reception by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 14.8 million tons, while by vessels under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 189.2 million tons,” the statement of the ministry reads.
The statement points out that from January through June 2024, a total of 34.4 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye.
However, in June of this year, the ports of Türkiye accepted 5,543 vessels.
During the mentioned period, the number of vessels accepted in the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,517, and under the flag of Türkiye - 2,026.
The ports of Türkiye received 29,315 vessels from January through June 2024.
To note, vessels under the flags of other countries accepted by Turkish ports during this period amounted to 19,790, and under the Turkish flag - 5,525.
