Volume of cargo received by Türkiye's Ceyhan port disclosed

BAKU, Azerbaijan, September 5. Türkiye's Ceyhan port received 10.6 million tons of cargo from January through July 2024, the statement of the Turkish Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure said, Trend reports.

According to the ministry, 169,958 tons of cargo were transported from Ceyhan port under the flag of Türkiye, and 10.48 million tons were transported by vessels under the flags of other countries.

A total of 15.5 million tons of transit cargo were transshipped through the port of Ceyhan from January through July 2024.

Meanwhile, in July 2024, Türkiye's ports handled 32.2 million tons of cargo. During this period, Turkish-flagged vessels' cargo traffic to domestic ports amounted to 2.5 million tons.

“Cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 29.6 million tons,” the statement of the ministry said.

Moreover, about 6.4 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye in July 2024.

The data of the ministry indicates that the ports of Türkiye received 236.2 million tons of cargo from January through July 2024.

“The reception of cargo by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 17.4 million tons. And by vessels under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 218.8 million tons,” the statement mentions.

The statement reads that about 40.8 million tons of transit cargo were transported from the ports of Türkiye from January through July 2024.

To note, the ports of Türkiye received 5,662 vessels in July this year.

During this period, the number of vessels accepted in the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 3,508, and the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye totaled 2,154.

The ports of Türkiye received 34,977 vessels from January through July 2024.

However, during this time, the number of ships under the flags of other countries admitted to Turkish ports amounted to 23,298, and ships under the Turkish flag to 11,679.
