BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 21. Türkiye's Gemlik port handled 11.3 million tons of cargo from January through November 2024.
The data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure shows that 1.3 million tons of cargo were transported from Gemlik port by vessels under the flag of Türkiye and 9.9 million tons of cargo by vessels under the flags of other countries.
From January through November 2024, Gemlik Port transported about 1.1 million tons of transit cargo.
Meanwhile, the ports of Türkiye received 32.4 million tons of cargo in November 2024.
During this period, cargo traffic from Turkish-flagged vessels to domestic ports amounted to 2.4 million tons.
“Cargo traffic of vessels under the flags of other countries to Turkish ports amounted to 30 million tons,” the statement of the ministry reads.
Additionally, Turkish ports transported 5.9 million tons of transit cargo in November 2024.
According to the ministry, Türkiye's ports handled 363.8 million tons of cargo in the period from January through November 2024.
“The cargo intake by Turkish-flagged vessels amounted to 27.4 million tons. Meanwhile, by vessels under the flags of other countries, cargo transportation to the ports of Türkiye amounted to 336.3 million tons,” the information notes.
According to the statement, from January to November 2024, the ports of Türkiye transported 63.5 million tons of transit cargo.
In November of this year, Turkish ports accepted 4,373 vessels.
The information indicates that during this period, the number of vessels accepted in the ports of Türkiye under the flags of other countries amounted to 2,966, while the number of vessels accepted under the flag of Türkiye amounted to 1,407.
Türkiye's ports admitted 56,086 vessels in the period from January through November 2024.
“During this period, Turkish ports accepted 36,550 vessels under the flags of other countries and 19,536 vessels under the Turkish flag," the ministry notes.
