ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, February 12. The volume of cargo transportation to Turkmenistan for the whole of last year increased by 3.8 percent compared to 2022, Trend reports.
Dovletgeldi Amanmukhammedov, Chairman of Turkmenistan's State Statistics Committee, made this announcement during an extended meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers.
According to him, the volume of passenger traffic in Turkmenistan in 2023 was increased by 16.1 percent compared to a year earlier.
Furthermore, Amanmukhammedov noted that the volume of communication services in the country increased by 11.5 percent during the specified period.
Meanwhile, in recent years, Turkmenistan has actively invested in the development of its transport sector, which has led to significant improvements in infrastructure and increased transportation efficiency.
Thanks to the introduction of new technologies and the modernization of existing vehicles, the country has been able to increase the volume of passenger and freight traffic within the country.
