BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, January 13. A total of 59 agricultural cooperatives have been established in 2024 in Kyrgyzstan, covering an area of 4,500 hectares of land, Trend reports.
According to the Ministry of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Food Processing, the cooperatives are spread across various regions of the country. The distribution is as follows: 15 in the Chuy region, 3 in Issyk-Kul, 11 in Osh, 12 in Jalal-Abad, 6 in Talas, 8 in Naryn, and 4 in Batken.
The Department of Cooperation, Mechanization, and Innovative Technologies in Agriculture, in collaboration with local government bodies, is actively working on implementing the "Program for the Development of Agricultural Cooperation in Kyrgyzstan for 2023-2027".
In January-November 2024, the gross output of agriculture, forestry, and fisheries in Kyrgyzstan reached 369.6 billion soms ($4.248 billion), which is a 6.2 percent increase compared to the same period last year.
Of the total agricultural production in January-November, animal husbandry accounted for 47.2 percent, crop production for 49 percent, forestry for 0.1 percent, fisheries for 1.1 percent, and services for 2.6 percent.
