BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 13. Natural gas production from the Absheron field in Azerbaijan totaled 500 million cubic meters from January through March 2025.
Data obtained by Trend from the Ministry of Energy indicates that this figure represents an increase of 100 million cubic meters, or 25 percent, compared to the first quarter of 2024 (400 million cubic meters).
To note, in total, the gas production during the reporting period included 4.5 billion cubic meters from the ACG field, 9 billion cubic meters from the Shah Deniz field, and 0.5 billion cubic meters from the Absheron field. Additionally, SOCAR's share of the production was approximately 2.7 billion cubic meters.
Regarding exports, Azerbaijan sold a total of 8 billion cubic meters of natural gas abroad during the reporting period. Of this, 4 billion cubic meters were sold to Europe, 3.1 billion cubic meters to Turkey (including 1.9 billion cubic meters through the Trans-Anatolian Natural Gas Pipeline (TANAP)), and 0.9 billion cubic meters to Georgia.
