ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 19. Turkmenistan has inaugurated a third oil loading berth at the Kenar enterprise for storage and shipment of oil products, marking a key milestone in the expansion of its fuel and energy infrastructure, Trend reports via the Turkmen Parliament.
The official opening ceremony was held on July 18 and coincided with a government meeting during which Deputy Prime Minister Batyr Amanov reported to President Serdar Berdimuhamedov on the recent developments in the oil and gas sector. The report included the completion of the new berth at the Kenar enterprise, which operates under the Turkmenbashi Complex of Oil Refineries (TCOR).
President Berdimuhamedov noted that the facility, with an annual loading capacity of 2.06 million tons and shipment capacity of 1.15 million tons, will significantly boost Turkmenistan’s ability to export oil products and enhance its role in international markets.
In the course of the event, Chairman of the Turkmennebit State Concern Guvanch Agajanov addressed the President via video link from the website and received his bliss for the official launch. Following this, local elders cut the symbolic ribbon, and the first tanker began loading operations.
Located on the Caspian Sea near the city of Turkmenbashi, the Kenar enterprise is a central logistics hub for fuel exports. It handles the storage, pumping, and dispatch of gasoline, diesel, kerosene, fuel oil, and other petroleum products destined for both domestic consumption and international trade.
The facility is equipped with a modern SCADA automation system for precise monitoring and management of shipments. A pipeline network connects it to the TCOR, and its railway overpass—operational since 2018—enables the simultaneous loading of up to 28 tank cars daily. With the addition of the third berth, the Kenar enterprise significantly expands its throughput capacity and strategic importance for the national economy.
