Iran discloses electricity generation of Damavand TPP

Damavand Thermal Power Plant in Damavand county of Iran’s Tehran Province generated more than 6.33 billion kilowatt-hours of electricity during the first 5 months of the current Iranian year (March 20-August 21, 2020), said Jamal Aryaee Executive Director of Damavand Power Generation Management Company, Trend reports citing Ministry of Energy of Iran.

According to Aryaee, during this period, the plant had the potential to generate 7.88 billion kilowatt hours of electricity.

The director added that the Damavand TPP generated 2,330 megawatt hours of electricity in the second half of 5th month of current Iranian year (July 22-August 21).

“The Damavand TPP generated 52,500 megawatt hours of electricity in 24 hours in the 4th month (June 21-July 21). This is a record figure for daily electricity generation at Iranian thermal power plants,” he noted.

The Damavand TPP has 12 gas units of 159 megawatts and 6 steam units of 160 megawatts. In total, this power plant can produce 2,868 megawatt hours of electricity.
