ASTANA, Kazakhstan, November 1. Kazakhstan and the French company Semmaris are creating a large agro-processing hub in the Almaty region made up of a joint project, Trend reports.
This was stated during a meeting between the President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev and the general director of the company Stéphane Layani.
The facility is scheduled to open in 2025.
Kazakhstan's total investment now stands at $150 million.
In the early stages of the project, the company will transfer technology and best French practices.
Kazakhstan-France trade turnover was $2.7 billion from January to August 2023, a 21.1 percent increase over the same period in 2022 ($2.2 billion).
From January to August 2023, Kazakhstan's exports to France climbed by 2.9 percent to $1.8 billion. From January to August 2023, France imported $881.8 million into Kazakhstan.
