TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, July 18. The portfolio of active industrial cooperation projects between Uzbekistan and Kyrgyzstan has reached $300 million, Trend reports.
The news followed a meeting between the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, and the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Zhaparov, in an enlarged format with the participation of official delegations of the two countries.
The sides noted that a new package of trade contracts and investment agreements in energy, logistics, electrical engineering, textile, agro-industrial, and other sectors was adopted at the Uzbek-Kyrgyz business forum held earlier. Thus, both parties decided to increase the authorized capital of the Uzbek-Kyrgyz Fund to $200 million.
Meanwhile, President of Kyrgyzstan Sadyr Zhaparov has arrived in Uzbekistan on a state visit.
According to the agenda, both sides will hold high-level meetings to discuss issues of further deepening Uzbek-Kyrgyz relations through a comprehensive strategic partnership.
The summit will be followed by the launch of a number of major joint cooperation projects and the signing of a substantial package of bilateral documents.
