BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 12. Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan discussed prospects for deepening their strategic partnership and alliance during a meeting between senior officials from the two countries, with preparations for upcoming high-level engagements also on the agenda.

This was stated by Uzbekistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs following a meeting between Uzbek Deputy Foreign Minister Bobur Usmanov and Azerbaijan’s Ambassador to Uzbekistan Rashad Mammadov on August 11.

The sides reviewed the current state of Uzbek-Azerbaijani relations and exchanged views on prospects for further developing bilateral cooperation.

Particular attention was given to preparations for upcoming events involving the countries’ presidents and senior officials. The two sides also discussed expanding the legal framework underpinning bilateral cooperation.

“The parties discussed the current state and prospects for the development of Uzbek-Azerbaijani strategic partnership and alliance relations,” Uzbekistan’s Foreign Ministry said.

The meeting was part of ongoing diplomatic consultations between Tashkent and Baku focused on coordinating bilateral priorities and preparing new initiatives for the next stage of cooperation.

The sides reaffirmed their interest in maintaining close dialogue and advancing mutually beneficial cooperation within the framework of their strategic partnership and alliance.
