BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 21. The electricity production at Iran's solar power plants increased by 9.1 percent from March 20 through August 20 (2024) compared to the same period last year, the statement of Iran's Energy Ministry said, Trend reports.

A total of 415 million kilowatt-hours of electricity was produced at Iran's solar power plants during the mentioned period.

Each of Iran's solar power plants, Taban Energy Pasargad, Avae Fakhraj, Ghadir Mehriz, Ghadir Isfahan, and Qadir Qom, has a power generation potential of 10 megawatts. Since these plants are equipped with double-sided panels and solar tracking systems, they have a higher share of power generation and an average monthly power generation of 2,200 megawatts.

To note, the production potential of Iran's electricity generation is 93,024 megawatts. The production potential of Iran's thermal power plants is 75,767 megawatts, the production potential of hydroelectric power plants is 12,144 megawatts, the production potential of retail power plants is 2,485 megawatts, the production potential of renewable power plants is 1,141 megawatts, and the production potential of Bushehr nuclear power plant capacity - 1,020 megawatts, and the and the diesel potential of units - 408 megawatts.
