The National Iranian Drilling Company (NIDC) carried out 16.5 kilometers of directional and horizontal drilling operations at Iran’s oil and gas fields during the first three months of the current Iranian fiscal year (started March 20, 2017), said Mehran Alipour, head of the Special Operations Bureau at the NIDC.
The horizontal and directional drilling was used in the activity areas of National Iranian South Oil Company, Iranian Offshore Oil Company and turnkey projects of the NIDC, Alipour said, the official website of the NIDC reported.
He further said that the carried out drilling operations indicate a growth by 16 percent compared to the same period of the preceding year.
The NIDC drilled about 75 kilometers of oil and gas wells using its drilling fleet during the first quarter of Iran’s current fiscal year (March 20-June 21).
The drilling company owns 74 light, heavy and ultra-heavy onshore and offshore drilling rigs with over 17,000 employees.
The NIDC carried out drilling of 193 offshore and onshore oil and gas wells (293 kilometers) during the last Iranian fiscal year (ended March 20, 2017).
