BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 3. The average price of a one-square-meter apartment in Iran's capital, Tehran, in the 2nd month of the current Iranian year (from April 20 through May 20, 2024) amounted to about 848 million rials (about $2,162), the statistics of Iran's Central Bank said, Trend reports.
According to the statistics, during the 2nd month, the price of a one-square-meter apartment in Tehran increased by 3.8 percent compared to the 1st month (from March 20 through April 19, 2024) and by 12.5 percent compared to the same month last year (from April 21 through May 21, 2023).
Furthermore, the information notes that the price of a one-square-meter apartment in Tehran amounted to 816 million rials (about $2082) during the first month of the current Iranian year.
Meanwhile, the information indicates that the price of a one-square-meter of the most expensive apartment among 22 districts of Tehran in the 2nd month stood at 1.56 billion rials (about $3,985) in District 1, while the price of 1 square meter of the least expensive apartment in District 18 stood at about 454 million rials (about $1,156).

Meanwhile, the country is experiencing a housing shortage, mainly in major cities. The Iranian government announced that 4 million apartments will be available to the citizens of the country within 4 years, starting in 2021.
