BAKU, Azerbaijan, July 8. The average price of 1 square meter of apartment in Iran's capital, Tehran, amounted to 859 million rials (about $2,208) in the third month of the current Iranian year (from May 21 through June 20, 2024), the statistics of Iran's Central Bank said, Trend reports.
According to the statistics, the price of a 1-square-meter apartment in Tehran increased by 1.4 percent in the 3rd month compared to the 2nd month (from April 20 through May 20, 2024) and by 9.7 percent compared to the same month last year ( from May 22 through June 21, 2023).
Furthermore, the statistics note that the price of a 1-square-meter apartment in Tehran was about 848 million rials (about $2178) in the second month of the current Iranian year.
The information indicates that, for the 3rd month, the price of 1 square meter of the most expensive apartment among 22 districts of Tehran amounted to 1.6 billion rials (about $ 4137) in the 1st district. The price of 1 square meter of the cheapest apartment costs 445 million rials (about $11,144) in the 18th district.

To note, due to the strong devaluation in Iran in recent years, prices in many spheres, including the housing sector, have been seriously increasing. Meanwhile, the country is experiencing a housing shortage, mainly in major cities. The Iranian government announced that 4 million apartments will be available to the citizens of the country within 4 years, starting from 2021.
