Iran discloses Qom industrial plant commissioning and development costs

BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 31. A total of 56.8 trillion rials (about $127 million) was invested in the commissioning and development of industrial enterprises in Qom province, located in northern Iran, during the seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024), Chairman of the Industry, Mine and Trade Organization of Qom Province Akbar Abdali told reporters, Trend reports.

According to him, 110 industrial enterprises have been commissioned and developed in Qom province in seven months. The commissioning and development of industrial enterprises has created employment for as many as 4,758 people.

Abdali reported that during the specified period, 65 new industrial plants came into operation, resulting in an expenditure of 33.8 trillion rials, or about $75.6 million. The commissioning of new industrial plants resulted in the employment of 1,593 people.

The official reported that the region has developed 45 industrial enterprises in the past seven months. The region has spent about 23 trillion rials (roughly $51.3 million) on the development of industrial enterprises. In this regard, the industrial enterprises provided jobs for 3,165 people.

To note, seven industrial parks operate in Iran's Qom Province. About 2,000 industrial enterprises function in these parks. These enterprises employ 57,000 people.
