BAKU, Azerbaijan, December 9. Iran's Central Oil Fields Company produced an average of about 170 million cubic meters of gas per day during seven months of the current Iranian year (from March 20 through October 21, 2024), Head of Iran's Central Oil Zones Company Hamid Izadi told reporters, Trend reports.
According to him, the company plans to produce 243 million cubic meters of gas daily already in the winter months, taking into account the cold and lower temperatures.
Izadi stated that during the seven months, the Southern Zagros Oil and Gas Production Company, operating under the Central Oil Zones Company, produced 118 million cubic meters of gas daily, the Eastern Oil and Gas Production Company produced 43 million cubic meters daily, and the Western Oil and Gas Production Company produced 6 million cubic meters of gas daily.
To note, a total of 84 oil and gas fields are under the management of Central Oil Zones in 11 provinces of Iran. To date, 13 gas fields and 13 oil fields have been developed. The maximum production potential of Central Oil Zones Company is about 250,000 barrels of crude oil and 250 million cubic meters of gas daily.
Iran is considered the second largest country in the world in terms of gas reserves, with about 34 trillion cubic meters of gas. Currently, 22 gas fields are operating in Iran. Iran produces 1.07 bcm of rich gas daily from its gas fields.
