A waste recycling plant worth $60 million will be built in Kazakh city of Pavlodar, Kazakhstan Today news agency reported with the reference to the regional department of environmental protection.
The capacity of the plant will reach 70,000 tons of waste per year.
The plant will be built within five years and its construction will be funded by European Bank for Reconstruction and Development.
In 2010 the Kazakh Ministry of Environmental Protection proposed to build waste recycling plants in Kazakh cities. Currently, none of Kazakh cities have a modern integrated system for residue recycling.
