BAKU, Azerbaijan, March 17. Azerbaijan's main gas pipelines transported over seven billion cubic meters (bcm) of gas from January through February 2025.
The data obtained by Trend from the State Statistical Committee indicates that there was a 3.2 percent contraction in gas throughput via the primary pipeline infrastructure relative to the corresponding timeframe of the previous fiscal year.
Furthermore, a substantial 48 percent of this gas was conveyed through the Baku-Tbilisi-Erzurum (BTE) South Caucasus pipeline, totaling 3.4 bcm.
It is noteworthy that Azerbaijan's aggregate gas throughput through primary conduits achieved 40.3 bcm in 2024, reflecting a 2.7 percent uptick relative to the preceding year. The BTE pipeline constituted a significant 56.6 percent of the aggregate, facilitating the transmission of 22.8 bcm of gas.
