DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, September 28. Trade turnover between Tajikistan and Russia reached $1.268 billion from January through August 2024, which is a 14.3-percent increase compared to the same period in 2023, Trend reports.
According to the Russian Trade Representative in Tajikistan, traditional goods exported from Russia include food products, chemicals, timber and wood products, ferrous metals, machinery, and other items.
Over 70 entities from Russia maintain trade and economic ties with Tajikistan. In 2024, business missions from regions such as Volgograd, Pskov, and Altai, as well as delegations from the Moscow Chamber of Commerce and the Russian Export Center, visited Tajikistan.
Further visits from business circles in the Russian Chelyabinsk region, Khanty-Mansi Autonomous Okrug, and Saratov are expected by the end of the year, along with participation from Russian companies in key exhibitions scheduled for this fall in Tajikistan.
For 2023, trade turnover between Russia and Tajikistan reached $1.8 billion, according to Tajikistan's Statistical Agency, setting a historical record.
