The volume of money transfers to Georgia in February 2022 amounted to $183.4 million, which is an increase of 13.7 percent, compared to $161.3 million over the same month of 2021, Trend reports via statistical data of the National Bank of Georgia (NBG).
The same figure also increased by 33.5 percent, compared to February 2020 ($137.3 million), and by 46.2 percent, compared to the same period of 2019 ($125.4 million).
Meanwhile, Italy ranked first among countries with the largest amount of money transfers to Georgia in the reporting period of 2022 with $32.9 million, which is an increase of 15.4 percent, compared to $28.5 million in February 2021.
Russia is second on the list with $21.9 million of money transferred to Georgia in February 2022. However, the current figure slightly decreased by 15.4 percent, compared to $25.1 million over the same month of 2021.
The US ranked third with $21 million of remittances to Georgia in the reporting period of 2022 - an increase of 9.9 percent, compared to $19.1 million in February 2021.

Meanwhile, the volume of money outflow from Georgia in February 2022 totaled $26.7 million, which is an increase of 27.7 percent, compared to $20.9 million over the same month of 2021, and 23 percent, compared to $21.7 million over February 2020.
