The Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of Regional Center for Preventive Diplomacy for Central Asia Miroslav Jenca, the Special Envoy of the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Zhanybek Karibzhanov and the EU Special Representative for Central Asia Pierre Morel welcome the establishment of the new Parliament, election of the speaker and the appointment of a new government of Kyrgyzstan in line with the constitution, the press release from the OSCE said.

The leaders of Kyrgyzstan's parliamentary parties on Friday achieved a consensus after lengthy discussions and voted for Atambayev, head of the Socialist Democratic Party of Kyrgyzstan, as prime minister.

"This represents a major step in building the country's democratic legitimate institutions.
The government now faces the task of fulfilling the expectations of the people by strengthening the unity of the country, ensuring peace and security, good governance and rule of law, fostering inter-community dialogue and reconciliation, restoring economy and improving the well-being of all citizens.
The broad national consensus is needed to support this agenda as a prerequisite for durable stability and peace", the Special Representatives statement said.

Special Representatives emphasised the UN, OSCE and EU readiness to continue their support to the people of Kyrgyzstan.
