BAKU, Azerbaijan, October 15. Deputy Prime Minister of Belarus Natalia Petkevich will visit Azerbaijan on October 28, Deputy Director General for Foreign Economic Relations of the Minsk Branch of the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry Irina Ivanova told the media on the sidelines of the Azerbaijani-Belarusian Business Forum in Baku, Trend reports.
Speaking about the development of bilateral relations, she emphasized that trade turnover between Belarus and Azerbaijan is growing rapidly. According to her, 2024 was particularly significant, with a significant jump in mutual trade volumes.
Ivanova said that trends in the first six months of 2025 give reason to hope for continued growth, although it still takes half a year to reach last year's levels.
"Belarus is among Azerbaijan's top ten trading partners. You are practically brothers to us. This is the only country I've visited abroad where I didn't feel like I was abroad - everyone speaks Russian, everyone is friendly," she noted.
Regarding the structure of Belarusian exports, Ivanova clarified that food products, including dairy products, account for the bulk of the exports. Belarusian dairy producers are currently represented in Azerbaijan and have already signed new contracts, continuing their successful collaboration with local partners.
"Azerbaijani consumers love Belarusian products. It's important for us to increase export volumes, reduce prices for end consumers, and expand our product range by engaging with different manufacturers. The more manufacturers represented, the more affordable our products will be.
Thus, cooperation between Belarus and Azerbaijan continues to develop, encompassing new market segments and strengthening the friendly economic ties between the countries," she concluded.
