BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. Kyrgyz Prime Minister Adylbek Kasymaliev called for the practical implementation of agreements aimed at simplifying procedures and accelerating the movement of goods during the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council meeting in Cholpon-Ata.

This was reflected in a statement published by the Kyrgyz government's press service on August 6.

"Quoting President Sadyr Japarov, Kasymaliev stressed the importance of implementing agreements aimed at simplifying procedures, accelerating the movement of goods and expanding market access," the statement said.

According to the statement, the narrow-format session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council focused on measures to deepen economic integration within the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), remove barriers and strengthen multilateral cooperation.

Following his opening remarks, Kasymaliev handed over the chairmanship of the closed session to Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, who currently chairs the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council.

The meeting brought together Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, Belarusian Prime Minister Alexander Turchin, Kazakh Prime Minister Olzhas Bektenov, Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Chairman of the Board of the Eurasian Economic Commission Bakytzhan Sagintayev.

The expanded session of the Eurasian Intergovernmental Council will continue on August 7, when the participants are expected to discuss more than 15 items on the union's economic agenda.
