BAKU, Azerbaijan, August 6. The Central Bank of Azerbaijan (CBA) and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York discussed prospects for deepening their long-term cooperation, the CBA said.

According to the central bank, CBA Deputy Governor Ali Ahmadov met with a delegation from the New York Fed.

The two sides exchanged views on trends in the global economy and financial markets, key challenges facing central banks, and issues related to the management of foreign exchange reserves.

They also discussed opportunities to further strengthen the long-standing cooperation between the CBA and the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, the statement said.

The meeting marks the latest step in the CBA's ongoing engagement with leading international financial institutions.

In October 2025, a CBA delegation led by Governor Taleh Kazimov held meetings with representatives of several major international financial institutions, including the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, on the sidelines of the World Bank Group and International Monetary Fund Annual Meetings.

Those discussions also involved representatives of Abu Dhabi Commercial Bank, Mizuho Bank and UBS, focusing on global macroeconomic developments, prospects for Azerbaijan's financial sector and opportunities to expand cooperation between financial institutions.
