ASTANA, Kazakhstan, January 17. The construction of a factory for manufacturing wind turbines and energy storage systems has been launched in the Zhetysu region of Kazakhstan by the Chinese Envision Energy company, Trend reports via the press service of the Akimat of Zhetysu region.

The plant will be located in the special economic zone "Khorgos—Eastern Gate”. The factory’s production capacity for wind turbines will reach 2 GW per year, while the energy storage systems will have an output of 1 GW annually. The total investment in the project will amount to $40 million, and 300 new jobs will be created.

The investment project is being implemented in partnership between the Kazakhstan utility company "Kazakhstan’s Communal Systems" and the Chinese company "Envision Energy," which is a leader in the renewable energy sector. It is planned that the plant will annually produce 250 sets of wind turbines and 100 sets of energy storage systems.

To note, the launch of the plant is scheduled for the third quarter of 2026. It is expected that 60 percent of the products will be directed to the domestic market, while 40 percent will be exported to Central Asia and the Caucasus region.
