BAKU, Azerbaijan, May 16. A system of documents on energy efficiency will be adopted in Azerbaijan, Deputy Head of the State Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture Ilgar Isbatov told Trend.
"An additional clause on energy efficiency has already been introduced in the design documents when designing buildings. Overall, a whole system of documents on this issue is being prepared as part of Azerbaijan's steps to improve energy efficiency in various sectors, particularly in construction," Isbatov emphasized.
According to him, Azerbaijan is actively consulting with international organizations on the issue of energy efficiency and will take into account all aspects corresponding to the specifics of the country in its upcoming regulations.
To note, the International Energy Agency and Azerbaijan's Ministry of Energy discussed the "Energy Efficiency Roadmap" this year.
Similar consultations were also held with the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the World Bank.
A multilateral technical committee was established in the Ministry of Energy of Azerbaijan to address issues related to improving energy efficiency in transport, construction, and other sectors.
