ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 19. Kazakhstan plans to attract 375 billion tenge ($784.8 million) of investments to Zhetysu region by the end of 2024, Trend reports.
According to the office of Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister, the main factor in attracting investment in the economy are the measures taken to develop infrastructure.
The country will put into operation the sections of the Taldykorgan - Usharal (287-615 km) and Saryozek - Koktal (45-68 km) national highways this year. At the same time, the repair of the Lepsy-Lake Balkhash highway (0-27 km) has also been fully completed. By the end of the year 90 km of the Almaty-Ust-Kamenogorsk-Lepsy-Aktogay highway will be provided with asphalt surface, the remaining 15 km - until the tourist season of 2025.
Kazakhstan also plans to repair 182 kilometers of roads of regional importance and internal streets of 54 settlements this year.
Meanwhile, the volume of investments in fixed capital in Kazakhstan amounted to 8.3 trillion tenge (about $17.2 billion) from January through July 2024.
The Zhetysu region (an increase of 51.7 percent), Kyzylorda region (41 percent), Pavlodar region (30.1 percent), Turkestan region (28.9 percent), Almaty region (27.7 percent), Karaganda region (17.4 percent), and North Kazakhstan region (14.9 percent) saw significant growth.
