ASTANA, Kazakhstan, August 19. The Prime Minister of Kazakhstan Olzhas Bektenov reviewed the progress of the Taldykorgan-Usharal main gas pipeline construction, Trend reports.
According to the office of Kazakhstan’s Prime Minister, the total length of the Taldykorgan-Usharal main gas pipeline will be 302.4 kilometers. The project includes the construction of six branch gas pipelines and automatic gas distribution stations. The pipeline's capacity is 385 million cubic meters of gas per year. The pipeline will be integrated into the existing unified Almaty-Taldykorgan main gas pipeline system, with completion and commissioning planned for the end of 2026.
The new main gas pipeline will bring natural gas to a whopping 66 settlements in the Aksu, Sarkand, and Alakol districts, where a whopping 124,000 people call home. Upon completion of the construction and connection, the region's gasification level will increase from 47.6 percent to 90 percent.
The Prime Minister emphasized that the new gas pipeline will ensure energy security and stable gas supply to residential homes, social facilities, and industrial enterprises in the region. An additional positive effect will be the growth of business activity, the development of small and medium-sized enterprises, and the creation of new jobs.
Kazakhstan's Energy Minister Almassadam Satkaliyev noted that the nation is pulling out all the stops to implement a number of game-changing strategic infrastructure projects to keep the gas flowing to the population without a hitch.
"To ensure an uninterrupted supply of gas to the country's consumers, it is planned to implement large strategic infrastructure projects, including the construction of the second line of the Beineu - Bozoy - Shymkent gas pipeline and the Aktobe - Kostanay and Taldykorgan - Usharal gas pipelines," Satkaliyev said.
