DUSHANBE, Tajikistan, November 7. The "Bokhtar - Levakant - Dangara" highway has been officially opened in Tajikistan's Khatlon region, Trend reports.
The symbolic inauguration was carried out by President Emomali Rahmon during his visit to the Khatlon region.
According to the president’s press service, the road was built in three phases. The highway stretches a whopping 68.8 kilometers from end to end. The stretch between "Bokhtar - Levakant" boasts six lanes, while the other sections are running on two lanes, keeping it simple and straightforward.
The highway embraces five bridges and two roundabouts, making it quite the sight for sore eyes. Moreover, in line with the president's orders, 3 km of internal roads in the city of Levakant got a facelift as part of this initiative.
It was emphasized that the "Bokhtar - Levakant - Dangara" highway holds significant socio-economic importance, providing a foundation for increased freight and passenger transportation volumes and improving their quality.
Work on the first stage of the "Bokhtar - Levakant - Dangara" highway began in October 2021.
