Turkmenistan notes growth of retail trade turnover in 1H2024

ASHGABAT, Turkmenistan, July 12. Turkmenistan's retail trade turnover increased by 11.1 percent year-on-year from January through June this year, Trend reports.

This was announced by Deputy Chairman of the Government of Turkmenistan Hojamyrat Geldimyradov at a meeting of the Cabinet of Ministers held on July 12, 2024.

According to him, during the specified period, the total volume of products produced in the country increased by 11.5 percent compared to the same period in 2023.

Furthermore, Geldimyradov noted that in the first half of 2024, wages for large and medium-sized enterprises in the country increased by 10.4 percent compared to the indicator for the same period in 2023, adding that wages, pensions, state benefits and student scholarships were funded on time and in full.

Meanwhile, Turkmenistan has been on a roll, experiencing non-stop economic growth, thanks to their laser-focused efforts in energy, transportation, and infrastructure development.

The nation is actively implementing strategies to attract international investments, with a significant focus on diversifying the economy and improving the business climate.
