Conditional admission process to be implemented at BTC

The construction of the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan main export oil pipeline is complete. At present only the process of conditional admission between BP, a project operator, and BotaЕџ, a general contractor of the section, is to be accomplished,Trend reports citing BP Azerbaijan President, David Woodward.

Moreover, work over construction of connecting lines with the pipeline facilities and the South Caucasus Pipeline (SCP) gas pipeline to receive gas used at the BTC facilities as fuel is to carried out.

The issue of compensation between BP and BotaЕџ has been resolved, while there are still some questions to be settled, Woodward underlined. The project is estimated to $3.9bn. However, its final cost will defined upon completion of work in South Caucasus gas pipeline.

At present the production from Central Azeri, West Azeri and Chirag fields is carried out ahead of schedule. In accordance with the production schedule, daily production in 1 million barrels of oil (approx., 50m tons a year) can be achieved by the end of 2008.
