TASHKENT, Uzbekistan, January 7. Uzbekistan plans to begin construction of its first toll roads in 2027, Trend reports.
The plan is outlined in the draft updated “Uzbekistan-2030” Strategy, which has been published for public consultation. According to the document, 50 kilometers of toll roads are expected to be built in 2027. Their total length is projected to increase to 75 kilometers in 2028, 100 kilometers in 2029, and 130 kilometers by 2030.
Earlier, in December 2025, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, in his address to the Oliy Majlis and the nation, announced that construction of 800 kilometers of high-speed roads would begin in 2026. The planned routes include Tashkent–Samarkand, Tashkent–Andijan, Tashkent–Bostanlyk, Pungan–Namangan, and Karshi–Shakhrisabz.
