BISHKEK, Kyrgyzstan, August 28. The Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund (RKDF) has allocated $2.55 million for the construction of a fish processing and caviar production plant in Kyrgyzstan, the fund announced, Trend reports.

The project, led by Salih LLC in the village of Lenin, Chuy region, is set to enhance Kyrgyzstan's food security and boost exports. The facility will create 50 new jobs and is expected to produce 6,500 to 7,000 tons of fish products and up to 8 tons of black sturgeon caviar annually.

“We have been collaborating with the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund since 2022. Previously, we launched three projects with their support, and today we are marking the start of our fourth joint project. By next year, we will have a full-cycle fish production facility operating based on a cluster model,” said Ravshan Abdurakhimov, Director of Salih LLC.

In turn, Artem Novikov, Chairman of the Russian-Kyrgyz Development Fund, emphasized the revival of the agricultural sector in the country.

“Thanks to the presidential decree and the support of the Cabinet of Ministers, all projects in this sector are backed by funding and will be completed. Feeding fish with home-grown feed, cultivating, storing, and processing will allow for the comprehensive development of aquaculture. The cluster approach being implemented by Salih LLC will help promote the "Made in Kyrgyz Republic" brand in international markets,” he said.

Novikov expressed confidence that Salih's products will be well-received by both local and international buyers.

According to Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Water Resources, Agriculture, and Processing Industry Bakyt Torobaev, Kyrgyzstan aims to achieve an annual fish production capacity of up to 105,000 tons.
